Susan, welcome to planDisney. You certainly have come to the right place to ask your question!
I love all things water, oceans, and sea creatures. And there is something truly majestic about dolphins. In fact, dolphins are one of the many reasons why you should visit
SeaBase in the World Nature area of
EPCOT. Not only is this the place where you can ride
The Seas with Nemo & Friends and experience
Turtle Talk With Crush, but you'll also get to explore a wonderful aquarium with one of the largest saltwater tanks in the world. Yes, that's right. One of the largest saltwater tanks in the world is right there in the middle of a theme park at the
Walt Disney World Resort!
At this aquarium, you'll be able to see
manatees,
sharks, rays,
coral reefs, and yes, even dolphins. Not only that, but for an additional cost, you can book the interactive
Dolphins in Depth tour where you can get up close and personal with these magnificent creatures. This experience is definitely on my Disney bucket list! Just be sure to look at the requirements and book this experience as soon as possible (usually 60 days in advance) as only a limited amount of Guests can experience this in a day. If your grandchildren aren't tall enough for this experience or swimming with dolphins is a little too...wet, you can always enjoy the
free scavenger hunt while exploring the aquarium.
If you and your grandchildren love the aquarium, you may want to dine in a restaurant that has stunning views of the sea creatures in the aquarium,
Coral Reef Restaurant. Also, be sure to visit
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park on your trip as well. You'll be able to see so many different animals strolling through the
Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail and
Maharajah Jungle Trek, as well as riding
Kilimanjaro Safaris.
Susan, I hope that you and your family have a wonderful visit to the resort. It sounds like it's going to be an adventure your grandchildren will never forget. Be sure to
reach out to me if you have any other questions!
Life is the bubbles,
Matt
