Hello! I am bringing a friend that is wheelchair bound. He would like to at least ride some of the rides. If I remember right, the long cue lines dont seem to be particularly w/c. Is there a different line to go for w/c's?? Thanks,

The procedure for wheelchair access varies considerably with each individual ride or attraction. For some rides, for example Soarin at Epcot, the queues are wide and straight. For this type of attraction, guests in wheelchairs or ECVs would wait in the regular line with other guests. For other attractions, there is a separate entrance for guests in wheelchairs.

In order to figure out the best approach for each attraction, you're going to need some help. Upon your arrival at any of the theme parks, you should stop at the Guest Relations office. They will give you a Guide for Guests with Disabilities. This will tell you where you need to go to most easily access each of the rides.

Another resource is a book called PassPorter's Open Mouse for Walt Disney World and the Disney Cruise Line. This sells for approximately $20 and is available through and many larger bookstores. Open Mouse gives incredibly detailed information for Disney guests with any sort of challenge, from anxiety to allergies and everything in between. The information for guests with mobility issues is outstanding. They describe the seating configuration for each ride, the physical forces exerted upon the body, any wheelchair transfer requirements, etc. They also give wonderful information about ways to navigate the restaurants and resorts in a wheelchair. If you get this book before your trip, you'll be able get your plan together in advance of your arrival so you'll be completely prepared to have a great vacation.
