We are bringing our S7 & D1 for their first trip on 3/8 & want to go to Fantasmic on 3/11 @ 8:30. How early should we reserve dinner @ the Sci-Fi restaurant if we want to get in line for the show at about 7ish? Not sure how quickly you get in &

Hello Amy!  I am so excited to hear you are planning your family's first trip to Walt Disney World.  You are going to have a marvelous time, I just know it!

The Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater is such a fun place to have dinner.  The tables look just like fancy cars from the 1950's.  It feels just like a real drive-in you see in the movies.  When we visit the Walt Disney World theme parks, I like to take the better safe than sorry approach.  If I were making the reservation, I would try to get a time between 5:00-5:30 p.m.  It usually takes my family right at an hour to eat a sit down meal at Walt Disney World, give or take a few minutes.  When making a dining reservation I like to take into account the restaurant may be running behind reservation schedule or my picky eater's meal didn't come out right so I would need them to remake it.  All of those little things can eat up time, so to save me from stressing out I book a little earlier than I think I will need.  If your meal only takes you an hour, you will have time to leisurely stroll though the shops on Sunset Boulevard as you make your way to Fantasmic!  Dinner, shopping and a show sounds like the perfect way to end a day at Disney's Hollywood Studios.

I hope you have a great vacation Amy, if you have any other questions feel free to ask!
    Happy Eating!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
