I am bringing my family to WDW for the fist time in June. I have two boys 5 and 2. We are excited for the Star Wars weekend!! Any tips? What time is the Hyperspace Hoopla? I think we will be staying at the Port Orleans French Quarter. All tips welcome

    Hi Beth!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.

I suggest visiting the independent website StudioCentrals.com.  It has a lot of information on Star Wars Weekends and on Disney's Hollywood Studios in general.  I'm a huge fan of the site.  If you use Google with the search string "Studios Central Star Wars Weekend Touring Tips" it will take you to a page with lots of information.

The biggest advice I can give is to get there early.  You definitely want to catch the show put on by Disney before the park officially opens.  I suggest that you plan to arrive at least 30  minutes and preferably 60 minutes before the park is scheduled to open.  Once the park does open, you will want to head straight to the sign up area for the Jedi Training Academy.  The Jedi Training Academy is always a popular event for young children, but will be especially so on Star Wars Weekend.

Beyond that, I would just say enjoy the event.  Be sure to watch the parade and the Hyperspace Hoopla.  The Hoopla typically takes place at 7 pm, but you will want to check the Times Guide when you get there!

I hope this helps!  Please write back with more questions!
