I am bringing my family next May 2013 party of 4 adults and my grandaughter who will be 3 1/2 . My question is her age is she to young to bring. Some one told me that is a perfect age because she will think the characters are real. So is that true?

    Hi, Beth!

Taking a little one to WDW is such a big decision.  Will she have a great time?  You betcha!  The magic of Disney will be amazing. The lights, the attractions, and of course meeting the characters will be out of this world!

But, you need to be ready to vacation like a 3 year old and keep with a 3 year old's schedule and that can be difficult at times!    On those gorgeous spring evenings when you want to stay out late and enjoy the evening's festivities, often you simply have to call it a night and get your princess to bed.  Your best bet for kids is to keep their bedtimes and meal times and close as possible to their regular schedule.

My suggestion is you plan for what will be the most magical for your granddaughter:  character meals, princess dining, and fun quick service locations like Pizza Planet in Hollywood Studios or Cosmic Rays in Magic Kingdom.   Plan plenty of downtime with naps and pool breaks.   Plan to be in the parks at opening before it gets crowded, and plan on only one or two late nights so your granddaughter does not get over-tired.

If you are willing to work around her schedule, then I say pack her tiara and head to Walt Disney World!  If you prefer a more adult vacation with late nights and fancy dinners, then maybe wait a few years until she can keep up with the adults.

If you decide to go, let us know if you need resort recommendations, or dining suggestions.   Good luck deciding!
