Hi, I am bringing my family to Disney the 1st week of February 2010. My question...Is the weather usually warm enough to swim? Are the pools at the Disney resorts heated? Thanks:)

The weather in Florida during the first part of February can still be quite cool.  The average temperatures range from 51-74 degrees. The most important thing to remember is that the mornings and evenings will be very chilly and when you head out to the parks you will need light jackets or sweatshirts.  That is also the case when the sun goes down so plan on carrying your wraps with you during the day if you are not returning back to your resort before dinner.  Our family joked that we could start our own Disney store with all the sweatshirts we would end up buying because we would forget them back at our resort rooms!

Swimming in the resort pools can be cool even though Disney does heat all their pool and water park water to 82 degrees.  For me I need that heated to about 92 degrees before I will jump in but the pools are open.  When thinking of swimming at this time of year I recommend hitting the parks early in the mornings and then when the sun has been out for a few hours to heat the air, head back to your resort and enjoy the pools then.  On the positive side the pools are rarely crowded at this time of year!
