Hi moms. i will be bringing my family to Disney in late January-early February. will it be warm enough to take advantage of the hotel pool. also which resort is best for a 9 yr old boy and 17 yr old girl.

    Hi Daved,

Congratulations on your upcoming Walt Disney World vacation! You will be happy to know that all of the Walt Disney World Resort hotel pools are open year round and heated year round to a balmy 82º F. No matter what time of year I visit, I always make sure we pack our swimwear. However in the winter time the temperatures can vary quite a bit and sometimes even dip quite low, especially at night. Even though the pool water will be 82º F, the air outside might be cold enough to keep me from jumping in. I have to say that my kids have never been deterred by the outside temperature dropping and have always gone for a swim each day.

Picking which Walt Disney World Resort hotel is best for you is a bit like trying to pick my favorite child. They are all great and appeal to every age! Therefore my recommendation for you is to first consider your budget. I have vacationed at the Value, Moderate, and Deluxe Resort hotels and have had a great experience at each one. Next take a look at the specific Resort hotels in that category with your family and see what appeals most to them. Not only can you view details about the different Resorts here on the Walt Disney World website, I have found certain "fan sites" such as Allears.net to have great in-depth fact sheets and candid photos for each of the Resort hotels.

Thank you for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question. Once you have selected the category of Disney Resort hotel (Value, Moderate, or Deluxe), we would be happy to hear from you again and help you make your Resort hotel decision. Simply let us know more details about your family such as their interests and vacation preferences and we will help you narrow your search.

    Have a Disney Day!
