Bringing an eight month old to Typhoon Lagoon in the summer. Are there any air conditioned areas that we can use to take a break from the heat?

    Hi Danielle,

Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for trusting us with your question for your little one. Having your little one with you while visiting the Walt Disney World Resort is going to be something you will always remember. Years from now that little baby will be grown and walking down Main Street on their own. And you will still have those memories of holding them for their first picture with Mickey Mouse. During this June day, I hope you are able to visit Magic Kingdom Park and take that quintessential picture with the big cheese.

Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Waterpark is a popular summer waterpark, and this summer will be no different. In fact, all guests staying at a Disney Resorts Collection Hotel get to visit a waterpark on check-in day for free. When you arrive at your hotel drop off your bags with bell services and head over to Typhoon Lagoon. This park is all outdoor park, and unfortunately does not have any air-conditioned areas to take a break from the heat. But there are options to rent shaded areas. The first option is the Typhoon Lagoon Umbrellas. This option gives you two lounge chairs, two beach chairs, a beach umbrella, a table for drinks, as well as towels. If you have a larger group, the Beachcomber Shacks may be what your family needs. This shack can accommodate up to 10 guests and includes cushioned seating for up to six guests, towels, a locker, cold water all day long, and souvenir refillable mugs. You will also have attendant service in case you feel like ordering something to cure your hunger. There are three different levels of Beachcomber Shacks and all three having a different level of comfort to fit your groups need.

This is going to be a magical summer vacation so make sure you take tons of pictures. Pro Tip: take a picture this year in one location, and each visit head back to that same location, and over the years you will be able to see the growth in your baby. Have a magical stay,
