I am bringing my daughter and my 2 yr old grandaughter to magic kingdom on march 16th (its my grandaughters 2nd birthday). We need some adivice on where to stay (fun) and if the park does fun stuff for birthdays? like meals? where to eat?

    Hi Dianne!

I'm not sure what your budget for this trip is, so I'll try to cover all the bases.

Value - All-Star Movies.  I think the larger-than-life characters would be very fun for your granddaughter - my girls particularly loved the HUGE dalmatians!

Moderate - Caribbean Beach.  It has great playgrounds on the beach that my daughter thoroughly enjoyed, and she was 2 also when we stayed there.

Deluxe - Animal Kingdom Lodge.  Most little kids love to look at animals, and she'd have plenty of opportunity for that there!  They also have a beautiful pool and lots of nice paths to take a stroll around the property.

Wherever you chose to stay, ask at check-in for a birthday pin.  Disney will give you a complimentary button for her to wear, and cast members and other guests can wish her happy birthday.  You can also contact the Disney Florist (407-827-3505 or to make arrangements for special balloons or flowers to be waiting in your room.

Chef Mickey's in the Contemporary Resort is a fun place to eat for a party!  They have a special 'Celebrate' song that they play, and everyone in the restaurant will wave their napkins and sing.  The characters make a fuss over people celebrating a special occasion, and a small cupcake will be brought out to her.  She will also get a special souvenir placemat to commemorate the occasion.  My girls still have theirs years later, and they always choose to eat at Chef Mickey's on their birthday.

You might also consider taking her to the Main Street Barber Shop for a special princess hairdo.  They can really glam her up for her special day!  And don't forget to have the PhotoPass photographers snap some special birthday pictures for you!

You must be a really fun Grandma to be planning this special outing, and I'm sure your granddaughter will be thrilled with whatever you decide to do.  Havea great trip!
