We will be bringing our children 6, 9 and 11 (boy, girl, boy) to DW next year. As a family of 5 would you recommend The Disneys Art of Animation Value Resort or the Disneys Port Orleans Resort Riverside? List pros and cons please.

Hi Cynthia! For families of five or more recommend the wonderful family suites at Walt Disney World. Some of the pros here include the fact that it is a new resort so all new technology and decor is a plus.  But beyond that it offers a separate bedroom and bath then more bed options in the living area plus another bathroom. When everyone is trying to get ready for a park day the extra bathroom is a real plus. This resort will have its own bus lines direct to all four parks so there is no stopping between other resorts picking up their guests. Small refrigerators and coffee makers are all part of the rooms so you are getting an incredible value for what you get. The resort has several pools and shop and food court.

Port Orleans Riverside has just gone through a refurbishment as it was needed in all buildings. The one pro here is that you will get queen beds now which has been part of the refurbishment. One room will be tighter for five but possible. The real negative is one bathroom although it is split with the toilet and bathtub/shower in one area closed off to the sink area. That can all be closed off with a curtain to the bedroom.

I think if you are planning a lot of time in your room then go for the Art of Animation. If you plan a lot of time in the resort pool then possibly Port Orleans as it will have a few more pool amenities. I personally like the double bathrooms for any family so would pick Art of Animation! Both will offer good quality bus service to the parks and you just aren't that much closer by being at Port Orleans.
