We will be bringing our children, ages 9, 13, 14, 18 to WDW for the first time. I would love a recomendation on which hotel would be most conveniently located. Transportation adds alot of time to your day I have heard. We would like to be centrally located

    Hi Dustine!

From a transportation perspective, the best resort at Walt Disney World has got to be the Polynesian Resort.  It's on the Magic Kingdom monorail line giving you easy access to the Magic Kingdom, and it's within walking distance to the Epcot monorail line via the Transportation and Ticket Center.  So the Polynesian has fast easy access to two theme parks.

After the Polynesian, the next resorts with the best transportation are the Grand Floridian and the Contemporary Resort since they are also on the Magic Kingdom monorail line.

Then I would rank the Epcot Center Deluxe Resorts on Crescent Lake next:  Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk, Walt Disney World Swan, Walt Disney World Dolphin.  You can walk from them to either Epcot or Disney's Hollywood Studios, though it can be a long 20 minute walk to a park depending on exactly where you are.  However, there is also boat service from those hotels to Epcot and the Studios!

The rest of the hotels, with the exception of the Animal Kingdom Lodge, are all about the same in my opinion.  Sure one or two might be slightly better situated, cutting off a couple of minutes via a bus, but that's about it.  Animal Kingdom Lodge, which is an absolutely gorgeous hotel and a fun place to stay, is in the corner of Walt Disney World and thus it does take some time to get from it to any of the theme parks except for Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Enjoy planning and write back if you have any more questions!
