We are bringiing our 6 month grandaughter with, and i am wondering about the baby sitting services. Has anybody experienced this service for infants?

Hi Judith! It's nice to hear from a fellow grandparent who loves Disney vacations!

I have used the private sitting services many, many times while vacationing with my own children or now with the grandchildren. We have used it at many resorts from the Yacht Club to the Wilderness Lodge to the Fort Wilderness Cabins and have been very pleased each time.

We use the Kids Nite Out which is recommended by Disney resorts. They have a four hour minimum but that really isn't that long when you realize a good hour is probably going to and from a park or a restaurant and you need at least a half hour to brief and go over all that the sitter needs to know.  You can request an age of sitter but generally we simply state the age of the child or children and let them decide who is best qualified. They will bring age appropriate activities although for 6 months you will likely have the infant toys with you. I have used them several times for infants and never had an issue but made sure instructions were written as well as verbal since every infant has different eating and sleeping habits.

We have always gotten a "dummy" key for the room/cabin made at the front desk that will allow the sitter to come and go from the room to walk the child/children in the stroller. We exchange cell phone numbers and generally call once during the time to check to see if there are any questions. If it is during a meal time we have them order room service as that is the easiest way to take care of the payment. Often they don't eat but we never not leave it as an option.

They are not able to bathe or take children swimming due to the safety of both those activities.

If you would like to call Kids Nite Out to discuss your needs or make a reservation they can be reached at 1-800-696-8105 or 407-828-0920.
