Can you bring unsealed shampoo or liquid detergent, or it all has to be sealed?

    Welcome aboard, Hadi!

Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney – we leave no vacation planning detail behind as we share our best advice with you. Packing and prepping for a Disney Cruise Line vacation is one of my favorite things to think about, so I’m happy to share a few tips.

There are no rules or policies against bringing unsealed cosmetic and toiletry items onboard, though any bottled water you bring onboard must be factory sealed. Disney Cruise Line provides complimentary quality products in your stateroom for use – beautifully scented shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, body lotion, and hand soap. You may bring your own if you prefer but these Disney Cruise Line products have a spa-like feel to them and may help save some space in your luggage. Your caring Stateroom Host will replenish anything you use so you’ll be all set for the length of your voyage.

If you bring your products from home, I suggest placing the opened bottles inside a larger bag or container with a tight seal to avoid any spills on your journey. The Crew Members work very hard to move lots of luggage from port and deliver it safely to your room, but it may get jostled along the way. Please also be sure to verify any requirements regarding liquids in your luggage with your airline, if air travel is a part of your transportation to the port.

I’m happy to share that laundry detergent and dryer sheets are also available onboard, for a nominal fee with the washing machine and dryer fees. You don’t have to pack any coins or cash; your Key to the World card will be used for payment the same way you do all onboard charges to your stateroom account. I prefer to pack laundry detergent gel-like pods in a small bag to save space and prevent spills (which would require even more laundry) when I travel, but you may bring whatever is most comfortable for you.

Full-service laundry pick-up is also available onboard if you decide to spend more time up on deck and leave the load with your friendly Crew Members; no doubt they will take great care of you!

If you’re thinking about packing, I hope that means your trip is just around the riverbend, Hadi! There’s absolutely nothing like a Disney Cruise Line vacation to ease your mind and truly unplug. Please sail by planDisney with any more questions you have as you finalize your plans.
