Hi there, Brooke!
Thanks for visiting us at planDisney. I'd love to answer this question for you!
I totally understand wanting to keep your metal containers full and ready to go for a fun day at the Walt Disney World Resort theme parks! As a mom of two young boys, you'll usually find me lugging around my own water-filled containers to keep everyone well-hydrated, especially on those extra hot, Florida days.
So, I have excellent news for you: You do not need to empty your metal water container before going through
security screening. To speed up the process, I do recommend holding the metal-insulated item (and other items like umbrellas and cameras) while going through security rather than keeping it in a bag.
Keep in mind, glass containers (except small containers like baby food jars) are not allowed. Before your visit, please take a look at the other
prohibited items. That way, nothing will slow you down from your magical adventure!
AN EXTRA GEM: There are several water stations around the theme parks. Many are near restrooms and restaurants. Some water fountains are in the queues of attractions like
Na'vi River Journey at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. And if you want more of that ice, cold water, kindly ask a cast member for a cup of complimentary ice water at most Quick Service locations and at some food and beverage kiosks.
Brooke, if you have any further questions,
please revisit me here at planDisney!
Magic always,
LeAndra
