Hello Karythia! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.
When my kids enjoy splashing around at
Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park or
Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, I am always wary of their safety. I know that Disney Lifeguards are true professionals and create a safe environment for Guests, but the mix of noise, water and Disney magic put me on high alert with my children's safety.
One of the ways I ensure their safety (but more to preserve my dad-worrying), is to bring swim floats, water sandals and all of the water safety gear that I know fits my kids and that they are comfortable with. As a side note, both of the Walt Disney World Resort Water Parks offer complimentary life vests for Guests for additional safety for those who want them.
If you (and your child) are more comfortable with bringing your own swim floats to the Water Parks, then you are more than welcome to do so. The only exception for floats or water shoes in the water Parks is for larger slide-type attractions that I am confident you will not be partaking in with a child wearing a slide float. Besides, most of the larger water slides have height requirements that prohibit younger children from riding.
Bring Sunscreen!
