Hello there, Ploy, and welcome to planDisney!
Is there anything better than looking as sharp as the officers of the Disney Cruise Line ships in their dress whites? Crisp, creased pants. Straight seams. Impeccable collars. They look as good as the beautiful ships in the fleet. Somehow, no matter how well I think I pack, my clothes always wind-up looking like I just pulled them out of the towel return bin. So I totally understand the desire to bring a steamer aboard.
Unfortunately, Disney Cruise Line prohibits Guests from bringing onboard personal steamers for use in their staterooms. It's listed on the
prohibited items list along with other potentially dangerous small electrics like irons and hot plates. However, there are irons available for Guest use in the launderettes located around the ship!
But how does the crew look so good? Well I'm sure it's part Disney Magic, and part the fact that Disney Cruise Line offers
full-service laundry, as well! In each stateroom, you'll find a laundry bag and a card with pricing information - just leave any articles in the bag and they'll be whisked away, cleaned and returned to you! Oh, and I almost forgot, if it's just a press you need, the laundry service can press your items for half the price of laundering them - which comes in real handy if, like mine, your clothes like to wrinkle themselves while in transit.
So while we can't take matters into our own hands with steamers, a little help from the laundry service aboard or one of the irons can have us looking presentable in no time! Thanks again for your question, Ploy, and I hope that helps smooth out some of your planning. If you come across any other wrinkles in your preparations, please sail my way again here at planDisney!
Fair winds and following seas!
