Hi Ellen! Welcome to planDisney.
I see you will be arriving at the Walt Disney World Resort later this week – hurray!
Spring is in full bloom all around the theme parks, resorts, and Disney Springs, and you are going to love soaking in the warm sunshine, dreamy Florida skies, and enjoying all the pastel snacks.
I’m happy to confirm that coolers are indeed allowed in the theme parks. According to the
Park Rules, coolers must be no larger 24” long by 15” wide by 18” high. If you’re hoping to keep your bottled water on ice, please note that ice may not be loose, so please use either reusable ice packs, or, if you’ll be using the ice machine at your resort hotel, bring large re-sealable bags to fill with ice. As you pass through a security checkpoint, your cooler may be searched by a Cast Member.
Since we’re talking about keeping hydrated and cool during your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, I have to share some of my favorite drinks you can find in the theme parks. If you’re planning a visit to EPCOT, do not miss the festival classic Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade, which can be found at Pineapple Promenade. I dream of this sweet, tart, slushy drink all year and my daughter and I usually go back for seconds…and thirds. At Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, stop by Pongu Pongu in
Pandora - The World of Avatar for the delicious
Night Blossom, which is a sour apple slush. Okay, my mouth is watering!
Have so much fun this coming week, Ellen! The Disney Parks Blog just published their
Foodie Guide to Easter at the Walt Disney World Resort – this is required reading before your visit so you can plan to enjoy all the sweet, springtime treats. Enjoy every minute!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
