There are times when a visit to
Walt Disney World allows us to go bag-free and other occasions when the big backpack is a must. No worries! Disney's got us covered!
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules specify dimensions of bags allowed, and the one you are describing is small enough for park use. However, many rides throughout Walt Walt Disney World load guests in one location but unload them elsewhere, so leaving your suitcase at that first location would not work. While most rides accommodate a smaller bag or even a backpack right in the car with you, a hard-sided rolling suitcase--even a relatively small one such as the one you're describing--might not fit in some of them. Not to worry!
Instead, I suggest you stash that suitcase in a locker that's located just inside park entrances.
Locker rentals are a great way to keep some necessary items nearby while not having to worry about them as you enjoy your park adventures. According to Walt Disney World's website, their larger lockers measure 15.5" x 13" x 17", so if your bag fits inside those dimensions, this is a great solution to have your things handy while being footloose and fancy-free throughout the day.
Now, if you plan on testing your sense of adventure with a ride on the exhilarating
TRON Lightcycle / Run, all items brought along with you must be stowed in lockers that are positioned just prior to boarding. Many guests and Cast Members estimate that the opening of these lockers is about 12", so that larger bag of yours might not fit. Best to store it the larger locker that's available for rent just inside the entrance to
Magic Kingdom Park.
Other fantastically fun rides that wouldn't accommodate larger bags include
Kali River Rapids at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park,
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at
Disney's Hollywood Studios, and
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at
EPCOT. To keep your options open, consider renting one of those larger lockers in each of the theme parks. Keep in mind that you've rented that locker for the entire day, so come and go as needed.
