Hiya Anna!
Thanks for sailing by planDisney with your question! I'd be happy to help you keep your cool on your cruise.
It's always helpful to take a look at the
prohibited and restricted items when you're getting ready for a cruise. Currently, guests are welcome to bring portable fans on the ship but they may be inspected by the Chief Electrician during the boarding process. If an item is determined to be a safety hazard on the ship then it will be confiscated and returned to you at the end of your cruise. But typically rechargeable fans (especially ones that are handheld or worn around your neck) are just fine.
With extra electronics sometimes guests try to bring power strips or extension cords to keep everything charged. Unfortunately, those items are definitely not allowed on your cruise, and bringing them will slow down your luggage on embarkation day. So leave those things at home and don't worry, your stateroom will have plenty of outlets!
Now that you know what not to pack, let's talk about the things you should bring! There are some great
packing lists on the Disney Cruise Line website to help you get started. One of the best tips on that list is to put your swimming gear in your carry-on bag so that you can enjoy the pool before the rest of your luggage gets to your stateroom. My kids always want to swim
immediately after lunch, so having their suits helps us start the fun right away!
Happy packing, Anna! I hope your cruise is a wonderful adventure and you can stay cool with your fan...and maybe some ice cream, too!
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
