Can I bring a 10-port USB charger on the Disney Destiny to charge our cabin’s magic bands and phones? It only uses one outlet plug. Thanks!

Ahoy, Andrea! Welcome to planDisney, where we aim to answer all of your questions about sailing where magic meets the sea.

Since we all have gadgets and gizmos a-plenty these days, the amount of stateroom outlets can be a definite concern when you need to make sure that everyone’s whozits and whatzits galore are charged. Thankfully, the staterooms aboard the Disney Destiny are equipped with a number of electrical outlets and USB-A charging ports to accommodate your entire sailing party’s thingamabobs.

However, you are also allowed to bring USB charging hubs as long as they do not include any prohibited features. The list of prohibited items includes: “extension cords, power strips, multi-plugs, and surge protectors.” Since it sounds like your 10-port USB charger plugs into one electrical outlet and only allows you to plug in other items via USB-A or USB-C charging cords, it should be allowed onboard. I always bring a small 6-port USB charging hub and have never had any problems.

Even though it sounds like your USB charging hub meets the requirements, please keep in mind that the safety of all guests is always the number one priority. Disney Cruise Line always reserves the right to seize and secure any item deemed to be dangerous or pose a security or safety risk to guests onboard. If any restricted or prohibited items are found within your baggage on embarkation day during the security screening, then they will be confiscated and could delay your luggage being delivered to your stateroom. Confiscated items can usually be retrieved after you disembark from your sailing, but you should speak with the Guest Services desk on Deck 4, Midship, if there are any problems.

You can also check the official Disney Cruise Line packing lists to see what is recommended for your particular destination. Additionally, if you have any other questions before your upcoming sailing, then we are always here to help at planDisney. Happy sailing!
