Hi Valerie, and welcome to planDisney! I'm so excited for your upcoming visit to the Disneyland Resort. Your four-year-old will have so much fun – there are many Characters to meet, attractions to experience, food to try, and areas to explore. With so much excitement, I understand the need to plan how your family will navigate the park and give mini Mouseketeers a rest.
Unfortunately, Valerie, my news may come as a Bibbidi Bobbidi Bummer. Wagons and stroller wagons are
not permitted at the Disneyland Resort, unless for an approved medical need. You can, however, bring a standard stroller, provided it
meets the guidelines. Single and double strollers are also
available to rent just outside the Disneyland Park entrance. This location also sells a foldable, umbrella-type stroller, too, so you'll have a few options upon arrival.
While having a stroller is nice, especially when getting from one land to another, you can also incorporate lots of breaks throughout the day so that everyone can enjoy a rest. One of my kids' favorite things to do is watch the show at the
Enchanted Tiki Room, with a Dole Whip of course! We also love stopping by Storytelling at Royal Theatre to see fairy tales come to life. The
Main Street vehicles, such as the horse-drawn street car and the two-story bus, as well as the Disneyland Railroad, are also fun ways to get from one area to another.
Here are a few tips from one mom to another when it comes to time in the park:
- Have a list of things you want to do, but try to go with the flow if plans change.
- Take breaks to rest and snack. My kids love eating Mickey-shaped pretzels and fresh fruit between meals.
- There is a Baby Care Center at the end of Main Street, U.S.A. with toddler-size toilets, changing tables, and a vending machine with essentials available to purchase like sunscreen and over-the-counter medicine. There is one in California Adventure, too. Grab a Family Adventure Map while you're there. It contains some really helpful information about what to expect from various attractions, a list of kid-friendly foods, and more. There's also a beautifully illustrated map that invites kids to find hidden objects.
- The Disneyland mobile app is helpful. You can use it to filter attractions by age, thrill level, and height. Plus, mobile ordering food is a time saver – we like Pizza Planet.
Valerie, I hope you and your family have a wonderful visit to the Disneyland Resort. If you have any other questions as you continue planning your trip, please reach out. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
Wishing you magic,
Kriss
