Hiya, Michelle! Welcome to
planDisney.
Are you getting so excited about your upcoming trip to
Walt Disney World? I've been visiting the week of Christmas for over 10 years now and it is so festive and fun. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.
I think you'll be happy to know that you are allowed to
bring outside food and beverages to the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. In fact, I do this quite a bit with snacks and drinks.
It really can save quite a bit of money. There are a few things to be aware of as you pack your picnic lunch, Michelle. When you package your food up for the day, be sure to pack it all in plastic containers as no glass is allowed. Also, there isn't a place to heat any of your food up so it is best to pack items that can be enjoyed at room temperature or cold like sandwiches, salads, snacks and things like that. When you are packing beverages for the day, keep in mind that outside alcohol is not permitted inside of the theme parks so be sure to leave that at home. Also, no loose ice or dry ice is allowed in your cooler. You'll need to pack the reusable style ice packs to keep your lunch cold instead.
Oftentimes, I leave bottled water at home. You can actually get free water at any
quick-service dining location. This saves a lot of room in your cooler and doesn't make it as heavy. When you are thirsty, all you have to do is ask for ice water and a Cast Member will be happy to provide you with one. Oftentimes, these cups are already made up because it has become a popular ask.
I hope this helps you plan out your day a little bit better, Michelle. If you have any other questions about this, please feel free to stop back by and
ask me. I'm happy to help.
Happy holidays!
Jackie H.
