Can i bring my own umbrella at the typhoon lagoon/ or blizzard waterpark?

    Hi Laniline,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another excellent question about the Walt Disney World Water Parks!

From what I understand, you can bring regular rain umbrellas with you to either Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park or Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, but you can’t bring big shade umbrellas or tents with you to use during your Disney Day.

I’ve visited both water parks several times this summer and I can say that, if you get there within the first hour of operation, you should find plenty of shady areas with beach chairs to use during your day.

Of course, as my good friend Sue pointed out, there are Beachcomber Shacks and Getaway Glen Umbrellas that you can use throughout your day at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park, and similarly at Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park, Polar Patios and Lodge Umbrellas available for rent if you want to guarantee your access to a shady spot, regardless of when you arrive to start your day. That being said, based on my experience, you shouldn’t need to purchase either of them in order to have a "splash-tastic" day (and find some shade!) at either Water Park.

Please don’t hesitate to come back and see us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,
