Hi Sandra!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so excited for your family’s
Halloween on the High Seas sailing! My family's first cruise was a Halloween-themed sailing and I don’t think we have missed a year since! We love the spooky, fun décor and the added onboard activities are SO much fun.
Another one of my favorite things about cruising with Captain Mickey is stopping at Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay! Crystal clear waters, soft beaches and so much to do make for a fun day at the beach. My family loves staking out a spot early on and we will spend the entire day swimming, eating the delicious bbq from Cookie’s BBQ and exploring the island either by bicycle or foot. My boys also enjoy spending some time at the island’s Youth Club, Scuttle’s Cove, where they can see their favorite Counselors and new friends. Port Adventures has some really fun and exciting
excursion opportunities at Castaway Cay, including snorkel equipment rentals, but you are also welcome to bring your own with you to use. I am not a snorkeler, but my husband enjoys seeing life “under the sea” in Snorkel Lagoon and is always on the search for Nemo or Flounder!
If you do prefer to rent snorkel equipment, you can reserve it ahead of time when your online booking window opens, or you can check availability once you arrive at Castaway Cay. Honestly, I don’t think we have ever pre-reserved it and my husband has had no problem getting equipment the day of, but if you know you’ll want to explore the sea life, go ahead and make the reservation.
Wishing you a magical voyage at sea making many memories!
Happy Sailing!
Stephanie
