can we bring our own food into Disneyland ? Are there areas to eat a sack lunch as a family?

Hi there again, Dianna. Welcome back to planDisney. We’re so glad you’ve stopped by with more questions for us.

I’m delighted to see you’ll be returning to a land of Magic next month. I’m happy to report that you certainly can bring outside food and drinks into the Disneyland Resort theme parks. There are some restrictions (please be sure to check out the official park rules) like no glass bottles or alcoholic beverages. Other than the listed prohibited items, feel free to bring in your favorite snacks and drinks. You can also bring a small cooler if needed, but it just needs to be 24” x 15” x 18” or smaller, and no loose or dry ice. Since there are numerous yummy treats throughout the theme parks, don’t forget to save room in your tummies! After all, it’s not a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth unless you eat some Mickey-shaped treats, right?

You and your family can enjoy your sack lunches in the tucked-away picnic area right outside the Main Entrance of Disneyland Park. (It’s located on the side closer to Downtown Disney District.) There are also benches throughout both Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park that you’re welcome to use to enjoy your sack lunches.

Please don’t hesitate to write us again if you have additional trip-planning questions. We’re all EARS!

    See ya real soon,
    Kiki

Meet the Panelist: Kiki, California

Greetings from Northern California! I have been fascinated by the magic of Disney since I was a little girl; now that I am a mother of two, I love watching my children experience Disney Parks through their own eyes. I am also surrounded by fellow Disney-loving nurse friends whom I enjoy quick adults-only Disneyland Resort escapes with. Whether you are planning your once-in-a-lifetime family trip or a short adults-only getaway to the Happiest Place on Earth, I am here to help!
