Can we bring our own fishing poles and bait to use at the Fort Wilderness cabins ? Also, can we fish off the dock or shore rather than the boat trip?

Fishing is one of my favorite relaxing things to do while at Walt Disney World.  I have normally taken the guided tour but this year will be staying at Fort Wilderness and might have to try my own luck in the waters there.

When fishing on your own you must remember it is strictly a catch and release program.  In Fort Wilderness you can toss your pole from any of the campgrounds into the canals and you do not need a license. Since bringing equipment can be cumbersome you can rent rods and reels as well as cane poles at the Bike Barn.  Worms may be purchased there as well.
