Ahoy there, Jan! Welcome aboard planDisney!
AHA! Another hot chocolate lover!
While we've done our fair share of cruising in the
Caribbean, nothing - and I do mean nothing - says, "I'm on a Disney Cruise Line vacation" for me and my family like a cooler-weather cruise, or a breezy pre-dawn wakeup to watch the ship pull into port. One of the best parts, besides the incredible views from the ship, is grabbing a nice hot cup of hot chocolate, coffee, or tea from the beverage stations topside - especially since they're included! Although I usually stick to tea in addition to being a hot chocolate connoisseur, I've got a planDrew-approved exclusive tip for you: I like to take the hot chocolate packets and use decaf coffee instead of water to make a delicious "Cruise Mocha" - believe me, it's life-changing!
We always bring our own insulated tumblers aboard when we cruise for exactly this reason! It's a great way to both reduce waste and have a larger cup than what is provided at the beverage centers! This comes in real handy if you're filling up and taking your drinks back below decks to catch a first-run movie at the
Buena Vista Theatre, a Broadway-style show at the
Walt Disney Theatre, or just heading to one of the
amazing activities aboard like trivia or a family game show in
D Lounge!
Now, as part of the enhanced health and safety protocol, it's likely that crew members will be filling disposable cups for you which you can then transfer to your personal cup, so just be prepared for that! And if you happen to forget your container while you're packing, you can always pick a new one up as a souvenir from
Mickey's Mainsail - we love a functional souvenir!
No matter what you do once you have your tasty beverage in-hand, you're going to have an incredible time, Jan! Thank you so much for sailing my way here at planDisney with your question! If you have any others as you continue your planning, please pop another message in a bottle and drop it our way!
Until then, I'll SEA ya real soon!
