Can you bring outside food into the park? My wife has type one diabetes.

Hey there, hi there, David! Welcome to planDisney. We love helping Guests get all the answers to their planning questions!

I am sure you are counting down the days until your visit. As someone who has a daughter who is vegetarian and sometimes vegan, I know the worry about making sure everyone's needs are met when it comes to meals and snacks. I am happy to share that you most definitely can bring outside food into the park. If you want to bring in food that you need to keep cool, there are restrictions on how big a bag or cooler you can bring in. Dry and loose ice is not permitted, so be sure you are bringing reusable ice packs. Otherwise, bring all the snacks and food that you need!

I hope you can find some options for your wife inside the parks as well. To prepare, you can check out all the menus ahead of time on the Disneyland website or Disneyland app. When it comes to table service locations, when you check in, you will be asked about dietary restrictions. In most cases, no advance notification is required for special diets like low-carbohydrate or no-sugar options. I've always been impressed by the accommodations chefs and Cast Members take to ensure everyone has a great meal.

David, I hope this helps with your planning. I hope you all have the most wonderful time!

Meet the Panelist: Carrie, California

Well hello there, friend! I'm Carrie, a work-from-home mom and military wife who currently calls sunny San Diego home. You'll find my family in the parks braving drops and coasters to work up our appetite to take as many snack breaks as we can. While Disneyland is our home away from home, we love trying to make a Walt Disney World Resort vacation happen at least once a year now too. All my friends know I'm the go-to for Disney advice, so I'm here to help you plan and experience the magic on your visit! Learn More About Carrie
