Hi Greg! Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!
You are just days away from your Walt Disney World Resort vacation and I'm glad you have decided to spend a day at
Disney's Animal Kingdom. This theme park has slowly become a favorite of mine over the years and my kids LOVE learning about animals from around the world.
I am happy to report that you are welcome to bring food and beverages with you into the theme parks. This is a great way to save some money, but also to keep everyone's energy up for a full and fun day exploring Disney's Animal Kingdom. You don't want to run out of energy when trekking through
Pandora - The World of Avatar, spotting animals on Kilimanjaro Safaris, escaping the Yeti on Expedition Everest - Legend of the Forbidden Mountain, or time-traveling on DINOSAUR!
There are a few general
Park Rules to follow when bringing in outside food and beverages, as well as a couple that pertain specifically to Disney's Animal Kingdom. In general, you want to avoid bringing in alcoholic beverages, glass containers (except small ones like baby food jars), and bags or coolers larger than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high. When bringing in items to Disney's Animal Kingdom, you also want to leave plastic straws at home for the safety of the animals. Even though it isn't food related, balloons are also prohibited.
I hope this helps as you plan your special day, Greg! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
