Ahoy, Jessica!
It is just about time for your magical vacation aboard the
Disney Dream! Right about now you are crossing off all your final "to-dos" and packing your bags for a voyage like no other. I know you can't wait for next week to arrive!
My family often drives to
Port Canaveral since we live in Georgia, and we typically come down the day prior to our sail date. We tag all the bags we plan to check (carry-on bags do not need tags) before arriving at the cruise terminal since the
luggage tags indicate where luggage needs to go once it's on the ship. All luggage not arriving via Disney Cruise Line Transportation is dropped curbside and taken by porters to be placed on the ship and won't be seen again until it magically appears outside your stateroom door! If you are driving or arriving by a shuttle or taxi, you'll see the porters waiting to take your luggage once you pull through the security gate. These guys and gals are so helpful and will make sure you have everything you need (medications, passports, cruise documents, etc...) before they whisk it all away. It's customary to tip the porters for their services, so I always make sure to have some cash on hand. Once you've dropped your luggage, it's time to either park the car or head to the cruise terminal to check-in. The parking deck is adjacent to the terminal, and Level 3 offers a bridge over.
Jessica, good luck with your packing this week! If you have any other last minute questions, please reach back out to us!
Have a "Dream"y time!
Nancy
