Hi Sarah Mae!
Thank you so much for sending this question to us hEAR at planDisney!
Oh dear, Sarah Mae! I am so sorry that you have to work while on vacation! At least you seem to have a good attitude about what you need to Bibbidi Bobbidi do to make your work
work at The Happiest Place on Earth. Pre-Princess Tiana said "you have to work hard in life to get what you want" and while I know that you'd much rather play, I can confirm that yes, Guests are more than welcome to bring a laptop past the security checkpoints. I've seen others set up makeshift workspaces at quick-service tables and I've actually brought my notebook myself. Just remember that every bag will need to be sEARched when you go through security. Also, bags and purses will sit at your feet as you enjoy
attractions with the rest of your party, so you might also want to consider a
locker (lockEAR?) rental.
Unlike Snow White's friends who had to whistle as they hustled throughout the day, there are plenty of places and spaces where you can still soak up the ambiance of Disneyland Resort while sorting out the budgets. The following
Dining Locations ...
... have seating areas available from park opening to closing: Jolly Holiday; Stage Door Cafe; *Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe (*indoors!); and the area behind Edelweiss Snacks.
... do not open until lunchtime (where they get pretty busy), but would be great mid-afternoon places to work: Hungry Bear Restaurant, *Red Rose Tavern, Plaza Inn, Sonoma Terrace, GCH Craftsman Bar, and **Alien Pizza Planet. (**Bonus, if you purchase a fountain drink hEAR you can get unlimited refills!)
... are attraction-adjacent (after all, Mary Poppins did say "In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun."): **Rancho del Zocalo Restaurante, Harbour Galley, The Tropical Hideaway, Terran Treats, The Golden Horseshoe; and my favorite, Refreshment Corner, where you can take a break by taking in a ragtime pianist.
If, however, you need a quieter spot where you can really dream it so you can zoom it, you're also more than welcome to work from the public spaces of the three
Disneyland Resort Hotels; the lobby of Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is just as comfortable as it is beautiful (that fireplace!), the Disneyland Hotel has outdoor couches near the gift shop that overlook the pool, and the Surfside Lounge in Disney's Paradise Pier Hotel is still temporarily closed but their seating area is not.
I hope that this helps to plan your upcoming Disney workday, Sarah Mae. I also hope that you're able to play as hard as you work! Be sure to check out the
official planDisney Instagram account for even more tips and tricks. And if you have any more
