Hi there, Mark!
Thank you for sending your question to planDisney. My planDisney pals
Lizzie and
Nilson know I am a huge fan of portable fans when traveling to Disney destinations in the summer (as well as in the spring and fall)! Having a cool fan when it is hot outside makes the weather much more manageable. I usually bring a neck fan or handheld fan (or sometimes both!).
According to the current list of
Prohibited and Restricted Items, portable fans are a "maybe". They will need to be inspected by the Chief Electrician, and if approved, will be returned to you on the ship. I have brought handheld fans in the past, and I was able to use them during my trip. I recommend making sure they are in pristine condition to help avoid potential issues. Personally, I prefer neck fans because I spend half of my time eating on a Disney Cruise. I need free hands to grab another ice cream!
Make sure to download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app before your cruise. It is very helpful during our family cruises! I like using the
Onboard Chat feature to communicate with my family members. Information about activities, entertainment, and even dining menus can be found on the app.
Mark, have a wonderful trip! If you have other questions, please send them our way!
Happy sailing!
Jen
