Hi there, Ruby! Welcome to planDisney! I can tell that you are gearing up for an upcoming visit to the Happiest Place on Earth, and it already sounds like you are prepped to capture all of the magic!
I have some great news for you! While rules and regulations for the
Disneyland Resort are always subject to change, currently tripods that can fit inside a standard backpack are permitted! Just make sure that it cannot extend more than 6' and you should be good to go. It's always a good idea to take a glance at the list of
prohibited items before you head into the parks to make sure there haven't been any updates or changes.
If the tripod is tucked away in your backpack, you should have no issues hopping on those attractions. If you are hoping to use it on the attractions similar to a selfie stick or a hand-held extension pole, it's going to need to stay tucked away as those are not permitted. Using anything that extends can be a safety concern and can also take away from the magic of the Guest experience!
Whether you are a professional or a budding photographer, sometimes it's still nice to jump into the photos yourself! One of my favorite perks of adding
Genie+ to my ticket is that you will have access to unlimited digital downloads of ALL of the
Disney PhotoPass photos taken that day. Even if just one member of your party has added it to their ticket, you can have them download and share each and every photo with the group. This perk includes attraction photos, photos in front of park icons like Sleeping Beauty Castle, and even Magic Shots. You're definitely going to want to ask for the Magic Shot - trust me!
I hope this was helpful in your planning, Ruby! If you have any more questions, come back to see us here at
planDisney!
Magic awaits!
