Can you bring food or drinks into the park?

    Hi Rita!

I think you'll be happy to know that you can absolutely bring in your own snacks and drinks into the Walt Disney World Theme Parks. Bringing your own food is a great way to save some money to put toward those oh so cute souvenirs. There are a few rules to keep in mind when packing your snack bag for the day. Glass containers, except for baby food jars, are not permitted inside of the parks. You also won't be able to bring in alcohol of any kind. If you are planning on bringing a cooler, it must be smaller than 24" long x 15" wide x 18" high and know that it will be inspected at bag check toward the entrance of each park. Other than those few rules, you are free to bring in whatever you'd like.

If you're packing a lunch picnic the day you visit Magic Kingdom Park, I have a very special spot I always like to have lunch and I think you'll enjoy it too. As you are walking down Main Street U.S.A toward Cinderella Castle, just passed Casey's Corner on the left and the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor on your right, you'll come to a grassy fenced in area on each side.  These grassy areas are usually not very crowded and are the perfect place for your picnic with stunning views of Cinderella Castle! If you're lucky and time it just right, the Move It! Shake It! MousekeDance It! Street Party might be swirling around you as you feast on your packed picnic! This lunch spot cannot be beat.

Hope this helps and happy snacking!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
