Hey there Renae and welcome to planDisney!
Electric Conveyance Vehicles are kind of a staple of my family's vacations at the Walt Disney World Resort. Between several knee and ankle injuries and even a few people still recovering their breath capacity post-COVID, they were the saving grace of our last big visit. I'm happy to share how to best utilize them next month when you're at The Most Magical Place on Earth.
Assuming you brought your own ECV or rented one from a company like ScooterBug, the Disney Featured Provider, you can bring it into your room at
Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. There are lots of outlets in the rooms to make overnight charging a breeze. This is especially easy if you're staying in Gran Destino Tower where the rooms are super spacious. Charging your ECVs in the parks is a little tougher. I always recommend Guests get a full charge once in the room for the night and turn off the ECV whenever it isn't in use during the day like when watching the
Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade or eating a meal. Now as for transportation,
Disney Transportation is wonderful at being safe and inclusive for Guests with all sorts of needs. We've been able to take our ECVs on buses, water taxis, the monorail, and even the Disney Skyliner without any problems. There's always a Cast Member who will instruct you and help you with getting that ECV on and off of whatever magic carpet you choose to get you to your Disney destination. On the buses, there's a special entrance mid-bus with a ramp that you drive onto and park your ECV. It is then securely strapped into its special spot until you reach your location. On the water taxis, a Cast Member brings a special ramp for you to drive onboard and park.
The Disney Skyliner actually has a gondola pulled out of rotation and stopped as a Cast Member guides you aboard and places special blocks behind your wheels to secure them as you ride. No matter what, it's no trouble to get you and that ECV wherever you need to go.
Renae, I hope I've been able to put your mind at ease about rolling around The Most Magical Place on Earth. If you have any other questions, please feel free to
come back for another chat!Happy planning!
