Hi Tricia! Welcome to planDisney! Your visit to the Disneyland Resort is just around the corner, and I'm excited for you!
As someone who likes to be prepared, I always make sure my park bag is packed with all my essentials. There are a few prohibited items you cannot bring into the parks, but rather than focus on the don'ts right away, I think it's more helpful to start with what I pack to help guide you!
In my bag, you'll find my phone with the Disneyland Mobile App downloaded. That keeps my theme park tickets, Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections, and the daily entertainment schedule close by. I also bring a reusable water bottle that I can refill throughout the parks, along with sunscreen. I am allergic to most sunscreens and have to be mindful of spray varieties that can trigger a reaction, so I pack lotion sunscreen instead. It stays where I put it and doesn't accidentally drift onto anyone nearby!
I also tuck away a
few snacks and drinks. Guests are welcome to bring outside food and nonalcoholic beverages into the parks, as long as they do not require heating, processing or refrigeration.
It's also important to note that glass containers are not permitted.
Another item that is in my bag is my FuelRod charger. I purchased it during a previous visit, and I love being able to swap it out for a freshly charged one whenever I need to. It keeps my phone powered up and ready for Lightning Lane selections, mobile orders, and snapping photos throughout the day!
Now, let's talk about what not to bring. According to
Disneyland Resort Rules and Regulations, there is a fairly lengthy list of prohibited items, although most are things you'd probably expect. The current list includes:
• Firearms, ammunition, knives, and weapons of any kind
• Self-defense or restraining devices, such as pepper spray or mace
• Marijuana, including marijuana-enriched products, and any illegal substances
• Objects or toys that resemble firearms or weapons
• Fireworks and other explosive or flammable items, including smoke or fog machines
• Alcoholic beverages, with limited exceptions in certain Disneyland Resort locations
• Glass containers (excluding small containers such as baby food jars)
• Horns, whistles, megaphones, and artificial noisemakers
• Recreational devices such as drones, skateboards, scooters, bicycles, remote-control toys, inline skates, and shoes with built-in wheels
• Oversized strollers
• Wagons and stroller wagons
• Trailer-like objects that are pushed, pulled, or towed
• Certain mobility devices that do not meet Disneyland Resort requirements
• Suitcases, coolers, backpacks, and bags larger than 24" x 15" x 18"
• Folding chairs
• Selfie sticks, camera extension poles, flags, and banners
• Large tripods and monopods that do not fit within Disneyland's size guidelines
Disneyland Security will inspect all bags before entry into the Downtown Disney District and before boarding the trams from the parking structures. If you're unsure about an item, it's best to leave it behind. Security may require prohibited items to be returned to your vehicle or hotel room before you can enter, or confiscate it if you cannot return it.
