Hi David and welcome to planDisney.
It's not long now until you'll be arriving at the Most Magical Place on Earth. If your house is anything like mine, I can only imagine how high the excitement levels are!
David, let's be real, any trip to
Walt Disney World will involve a lot of walking especially for little legs like those of your grandchildren. We actually brought a stroller with us for my 7-year old daughter to use, when we visited last Summer and I'm glad that we did.
The combination of early mornings, late nights, the Summer heat and all that walking certainly catches up with you and having a stroller really did make a huge difference as our daughter could have a much needed rest as and when was necessary. Plus, having a stroller is so super convenient for storing all of those park day essentials which you need to have when travelling with little ones.
The
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules state that strollers that are greater than 31" (79 cm) in width and 52" (132 cm) in length and
all stroller wagons are prohibited at any theme park or water park.
As an alternative,
strollers are available to rent throughout the Walt Disney World theme parks and Disney Springs. Strollers can be rented daily or, you can purchase a length of stay rental at a slightly reduced price.
Whilst I understand that this likely isn't the answer that you were hoping for, I hope that it clarifies the situation for you and allows you to plan accordingly for your trip.
If we can be of any further assistance with the planning of your trip, David, please feel free to re-visit us, here at
planDisney, where we will be only too happy to help.
Wishing you a magical trip filled with memories which will last a lifetime!
Emma
