Can I bring a Disney refill mug from a previous trip for water?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Monica!

I see you are counting down the DAYS until your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort, and I know just how excited you are. This is such a great time to visit, with the spook-tacular Mickey pumpkins lining Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom Park, delicious food and drink at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, and the brand-new land of Batuu now open for visitors at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. You’re going to have the BEST time!

I’m happy to let you know that you’re welcome to reuse your Resort Refillable Mug from a previous visit for water refills. If you wanted to refill with coffee, tea, cocoa, or soda, you would need to purchase a new mug at your resort’s Quick-Service dining location, but if you just want to use the mug to sip water, you’re more than welcome to refill any mug or water bottle you bring along. On a visit last year, my dear friend and fellow Panelist Kristen brought me an adorable Disney Parks refillable Halloween mug from Disneyland Resort, and I used that mug through our whole visit for water, and even to fill with coffee and tea brewed in our resort hotel room.

Monica, while you’re in the theme parks, you may want to bring a different style of water bottle, since the mugs may leak in a backpack. I’m a huge fan of insulated water bottles to help the water stay cool – my family uses HydroFlask or Swell bottles, but there are lots of great brands out there. Just remember to check the Park Rules to be sure you’re only bringing permissible items with you (glass water bottles are not permitted). Once you’re in the parks, you’ll be able to request complimentary ice water at any Quick-Service dining location, or refill at water fountains throughout the parks. (Fun fact: you’ll almost always find water fountains outside restrooms.)

I hope you have an amazing visit next week! As you count down and dream, please come back and see us if any further questions pop up.

    Wishing you a magical vacation,
    Robyn
