I would like to bring my daughter’s family this summer. They are from Kansas. Can they go?

Hey there, hi there Don! Thanks for stopping by planDisney where you're always welcome as can be.

What an exciting spring it's been! Mickey Mouse and friends are so happy to be sharing the Happiest Place on Earth with Guests once again. At the current phase or reopening, per guidance from the State of California, only folks who reside in the Golden State may enter Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park until further notice. When making theme park reservations you will be asked to confirm that all members of your party live in California, and proof of residency may be requested upon arrival.

Don, although your whole family is not able to make reservations to visit the theme parks at this time, I recommend keeping an eye on the Disney Parks Blog and Returning to a Land of Magic page to check for updates to current policies and health protocols. If anything changes between now and when your family visits, these are the best sources of official information and breaking news.

In the meantime, your out-of-state family is welcome to enjoy the Downtown Disney District for shopping and dining. I know it's not the same as visiting the theme parks, but it could be a fun dose of Disney while they wait for their chance to journey to a galaxy far, far away

Best wishes for a wonderful visit with your family, Don, and I hope someday soon you'll all be walking down Main Street U.S.A. together. Thanks again for sending your question our way, and have a magical day!

Greetings! I'm Betsy, a middle school teacher, wife, and mom of two. My family and I love to travel the world, but our best memories are those made when we're visiting Walt Disney World or Disneyland Resort. No matter how many times we visit, there is always something new to see, ride, or eat at the Disney Parks. Learn More About Betsy
