We will bring our daughter in April, 2013 and she will be 27 months old. What should I familiarize her with so that she will know about disney world? And how can I get her familiarized with it? She watches disney junior already. Thanks

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Pedro!

So excited to hEAR you're bringing your daughter to Disney World!  Watching Disney Junior is a great start. That way she'll be familiar with many of the characters in the parks.

One my favorite things to do with my boys is to explore the Disney World website with them and show them pictures of things that I know we're going to do. We talk about it so they will know what to expect. For example, I told them we would get to ride on a boat on "it's a small world". Sing the song with her - you might as well go ahead and get it stuck in your head - ha! They see my excitement so they get excited. We also go on YouTube and watch videos. You can find video of lots of the attractions, shows and parades on there. Watch videos of attractions like Disney Junior - Live on Stage! and sing and dance with your daughter.

Listen to Disney music in your house and car. Kids love it in the parks when they can sing and dance along to songs they already know. Disney made a series of videos called Disney's Sing Along Songs. Ours are older and on VHS but you may be able to find some DVDs online. You can also order the free planning DVD from DisneyWorld.com.

Books are also a great thing to show your daughter.  Birnbaum's Guide to Walt Disney World for Kids has great pictures.

Be sure you talk about the characters being much bigger in person than on TV. Act out meet and greets with the characters so she'll be ready to give Goofy a big hug without being frightened.

Please let us know if you need tips on anything else.  We're thrilled to assist you!  Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison
