Welcome to planDisney, Tami! We are a group of regular guests who have mastered the art of planning Disney vacations, so now we spend our free time helping other guests plan theirs!
I love Disney's
All-Star Sports Resort! It has larger-than-life theming, a fun pool, and a convenient food court. It was actually the first Disney resort I ever stayed in back in the 90s! Your question is incredibly relatable, as I just returned from a vacation with my husband and teens, and we took a portable cot with us to minimize the arguing between our daughters. I had been wondering if I could use this method at a
Walt Disney World Resort hotel. I just got off the phone with a helpful Cast member, Otis, who informed me that there is not sufficient room in an All-Star Resort standard room for a cot. When the rooms were refurbished a few years back, the full-sized beds were replaced with queen-sized beds, and additional furnishings were added, making a supplementary cot or rollaway bed impractical and unsafe.
I know this isn't the answer you were hoping for. I was disappointed, too. But there are other options for us both! Otis recommended a family suite at
Disney's All-Star Movies Resort, and I've got to admit, I'm so sold on the idea that I'm working on booking one for my own crew late this summer! They have three queen-sized beds, two full bathrooms, and a kitchenette with a full-sized refrigerator! They also happen to be more affordable than most other options.
We have stayed in a family suite at
Disney's Art of Animation Resort in the past. With three beds (one queen, two full) and two bathrooms, this was perfect for us, and I'm obsessed with the immersive theming at this resort. Additionally,
Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside and
Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort both have "5th sleepers," which are child-size pull-down beds.
Wherever you stay, your whole family is in for a lot of fun, because there have been several recent announcements! Many of our favorite attractions have received recent upgrades or refurbishments, and they are going to be worth the trip! From
Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin (the blasters are now handheld!) to
Rock 'N' Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, and from
Soarin' Across America to
Bluey and Bingo in
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park - there's something for everyone! Keep an eye on
Disney Parks Blog for all the latest details.
I'm sure you'll find the right Resort hotel for your family, Tami. If you have any more questions, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're always happy to help here at
