Hello, Heather!
Welcome to planDisney, I'm happy to meet you!
You're so smart to be thinking about what you can pack to make your trip a little bit easier. It's a good idea to check the
Disney Cruise Line website to see the list of prohibited and restricted items so that you don't have any waves while you're trying to board. I'm happy to share that if you scroll toward the bottom of the list you'll see that while wagons are generally now allowed, you can bring a collapsable wagon according to the current policies. Because things sometimes change I would recommend checking the list again closer to your cruise, just to make sure it's still ok.
One of my favorite embarkation day tips is to pack your swimming suits in your carry-on bags. That way you can board the ship, grab some lunch, then change into your suits for a swim right away! Your checked luggage will be delivered to your stateroom, but my kids never want to wait for our room to be ready before we swim. They want to get the
pool party started as soon as we're on the ship!
Packing can be a little intimidating, so I love that the Disney Cruise Line website has
suggested packing lists for different destinations. They're a great starting point! My kids like to use the
My Disney Cruise Adventure packet to help them get ready for our trips, too. You can print it out at home and learn about the ships together! The section on new words (like "starboard" and "port") is our favorite. It's fun to feel like you're a sailor...or a pirate!
Have so much fun preparing for your adventure at sea, Heather! Please come back if you have any other questions we can help with.
Keep moving forward!
Amanda
