Hello, Angelica and welcome to planDisney! I'm so glad you thought to visit us with your question as you prepare for your upcoming Disney Cruise!
Your sailing is so soon, that I'm sure you are about ready to
pack your suitcases for adventure and get going! Disney Cruise Line allows two checked bags per guest as well as a carry-on bag and a small personal item. Hopefully, you have received the luggage tags in the mail. These are intended to be put on your checked baggage when you arrive at the port. You will leave the luggage that you don't want to carry on the ship with porters outside of the cruise terminal. This luggage will then be delivered to your stateroom a few hours after you have boarded the ship.
If you haven't received any luggage tags in the mail, don't worry. The porters will have some blank ones for you to use if needed. Make sure you have your stateroom number handy so that you can write it on the luggage tags if you need to use the ones at the port.
I always like to remind everyone to keep important travel documentation,
citizenship documentation (like your passport or birth certificate), medication, jewelry, or other valuables with them in their carry-on baggage. You will need to present your citizenship documentation and port arrival form at the port upon arrival and before being cleared to board the ship.
If you'd like to swim on the first afternoon onboard, it's also a great idea to keep a swimsuit and coverup with you in your carry-on luggage. Or you can be like some of my friends and wear your swimsuit under your clothing for a quick change and maximum pool relaxation time. You can board the ship, grab a delicious lunch, and be poolside as quickly as possible. Don't forget to grab a soft-serve ice cream cone for a sweet treat. It's the best afternoon snack!
Thanks again for cruising to us at planDisney, Angelica. My pals and I are happy to help if you ever have more questions.
Bon Voyage!
