Welcome to planDisney Karen! I see that your magical trip is just around the corner, let the countdown begin!
You absolutely can bring a backpack into Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, and the Downtown Disney District. It will be subject to a screening at the security checkpoint upon arrival, you'll want to be mindful of the
prohibited items that you are not allowed to bring in. I always have a backpack with me each trip, I find that I'd rather have all of my park day essentials with me, rather than having to purchase them.
There are
lockers available for rent in both theme parks, as well as in The Esplanade in the Downtown Disney District located outside of the Main Entrances to both parks. Lockers do provide unlimited access throughout the day, which is a great benefit. There are different prices depending on which locker size suits your needs, and the lockers are only accessible during
park operating hours, so you'll need to remove your items before heading home for the day.
My park necessities that I pack in my backpack each trip include a portable cell phone charger and cord, a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated during the day, hand sanitizer, a few small snacks to tide us over in between meals, and a smaller wallet to hold my ID and credit card. If you end up doing some souvenir shopping during your trip, which I highly recommend, you could easily drop your purchases off at your locker and grab them on your way out from the parks.
I hope this helps better prepare you for your vacation, Karen! If you think of any other questions we can answer, don't hesitate to
follow-up with me directly, I'm here to help!
Have a magical trip,
Melissa
