Hi there, Debbie!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question!
When visiting Walt Disney World's four amazing theme parks, it's important to bring along the essentials to make the most of your experience. Guests are absolutely allowed to bring backpacks with them to the parks, in fact, I'd be lost without mine!
Walt Disney World Resort Property Rules state that bags and backpacks (with or without wheels) can be no larger than 24" long x 15" high, and a standard-sized backpack fits well within those dimensions. With the latest security screening procedures as you enter the theme parks, you won't even have to take your backpack off to go through the scanners! If an additional bag check is needed, you'll simply step to the side with a Cast Member from security that will check the contents of your bag.
Here's a list of some of my must-haves to bring to the parks in my backpack:
- Collapsible water bottle
- Sunscreen
- Rain Ponchos/Umbrella (Tip: make sure to take your umbrella out of your backpack and hold it in front of you when passing through the scanners at security screenings)
- Photo ID
- Small packaged snacks (my favorites are cashews and beef jerky!)
- Sunglasses (a must for the Florida sunshine)
- Portable phone charger and charging cord
- Hand Sanitizer
- Ponytail holders/hat (I have long hair and sometimes want to put it up on a hot day!)
Some planDisney panelists recently shared
what's in our park bags in a post on Instagram! I encourage you to follow
planDisney on Instagram for tips, advice, and must-dos from our panelists. Our team is made up of Guests, just like you, that love to share things we've learned from our own Walt Disney World vacations to help add a bit of extra magic to yours.
I hope this helps with your plans and preparations for an upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
