Ahoy there, Matt, and welcome to planDisney! Your cruise from Melbourne aboard the
Disney Magic is sure to be an incredible adventure, so I’m happy to help you live your best bubbly life at sea!
Disney Cruise Line permits Guests aged 21 and older to bring a limited amount of alcohol onboard at the start of their sailing, and again at each port of call. The
current policy allows each adult to bring either six beers (12 oz/355 ml or less each) or two unopened bottles of wine or champagne (750 ml or less each). These must be brought on the ship in your carry-on bag, not
packed in your checked luggage; otherwise, they can be confiscated. Because the policy only covers beer, wine, and champagne, alcoholic seltzers or other spirits-based drinks aren’t permitted.
I know that’s a Bibbidi Bobbidi Bummer, but as a smart Disney sailor, I thought you'd want to know before you go. It’s also important to note that you’ll need to keep your carry-on with you until your stateroom is ready, which is typically around 1:30 p.m.
If you’re hoping to enjoy something similar once onboard, you’ll find plenty of refreshing cocktails, mocktails, and sparkling beverages available throughout the ship (I’m partial to any of the specials served at Signals Bar when I’m sailing the Disney Magic!). So, to stay on the safe side, I’d recommend sticking to the beer or wine allowance and letting Disney’s bartenders handle the rest.
Here’s to smooth seas, sunny days, and sparkling sips on your vacation, Matt! And if any other questions bubble up before embarkation day, I hope you’ll sail back to us at
planDisney.
Cheers!
