Ahoy there, Kristina!
Welcome aboard planDisney! It sounds like you're getting ready to set sail on a Disney adventure—and wondering if you can bring along a little something to make your toast at sea even more enchanting. I’m so glad you sailed by with this question, because I’m always happy to raise a glass to the kind of planning that leads to magical moments (and yes, maybe a splash of something sparkly too).
Here’s the happily ever after-hours scoop:
Guests 21 years and older may bring alcohol onboard, with a few guidelines straight from Captain Minnie. Each Guest may bring:
• Up to two (2) unopened bottles of wine or champagne (750 ml or less), or
• Up to six (6) beers (12 oz or less),
per person, and at each port of call. That means if your itinerary includes stops where you re-board the ship (like Nassau or Cozumel), you can refill your goblet of magic at each one. Talk about a practically perfect pour!
Here’s the key part: Be sure to pack your beverages in your carry-on luggage, not your checked bags. If they’re found in your checked luggage, they will be removed and no compensation will be offered—which means no sipping at sea, and that’s a plot twist worthy of Maleficent herself!
If you’d like to enjoy your wine or champagne in the main dining rooms—say, while dining under the lanterns at
Rapunzel’s Royal Table or reliving
golden memories in Lumiere’s—Disney does allow it, but there is a $29 corkage fee per bottle. Personally, I like to enjoy a favorite bottle in the peace of our stateroom, especially if we’re lucky enough to have a verandah. Nothing beats watching the sun dip below the horizon while sipping a glass of something special—now that’s the kind of magic you don’t need a wand for.
And if you’re not bringing your own, no worries—Disney stirs up plenty of enchantment on board! From mixology classes and sommelier-led tastings, to
specialty cocktails at Cove Café and immersive lounges themed to galaxies far, far away or royal courts of old, there’s no shortage of spots to sip and be seen. One of my favorites? A classic cocktail in one of the adult-exclusive lounges while chatting with Cast Members who seem to have a little extra pixie dust behind the bar—and some great Disney trivia to share, too!
Kristina, I hope this helps you plan for
a few extra sips of joy on your voyage! Whether you're clinking glasses on Castaway Cay or uncorking some magic under the stars, Disney cruises have a way of making every moment a reason to celebrate.
Sea ya real soon as May brings sunshine, magical ports, and maybe a Mickey bar or two,
Dustin
