Hello! I have breakfast reservations at Soma’s at AK Lodge on Sunday before going to AK and wanted to know the best way to get there from the Polynesian Resort? I will also be attending Mickey’s Not So Scary Party at MK. What is the best route from AK-MK?

Hiya, Zoe! Welcome to planDisney, and thanks for sharing your question with us!

Did you know that Walt Disney World is as big as San Francisco and twice the size of Manhattan? At 25,000 total acres, even the most seasoned traveler may need directions around the Vacation Kingdom of the World. So let’s get you where you need to go!

First, make sure you’ve downloaded the My Disney Experience app to your mobile device. Not only does it help you manage your tickets and reservations, but it can also give you helpful step-by-step directions to almost any Walt Disney World location. It also provides estimated travel times and will display all the available Disney transportation options based on your start and end points. You can access directions by searching for your destination (the magnifying glass icon along the bottom of your screen) and then tapping “Get Directions” on the location page, or selecting your destination on the map (the pin icon).

At the time I’m writing this, your best route will be to take the monorail from the Polynesian Village Resort to the Magic Kingdom, and then board a bus to Animal Kingdom Lodge. The My Disney Experience app estimates a 66-minute travel time, but this may vary based on the date and time of day you’re traveling. Once you reach Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House (the main building) it’s just a short 9-minute walk to Kidani Village, home of Sanaa. Shuttle buses are also available between Jambo House and Kidani Village.

When your day at Animal Kingdom is finished and it's time to head over to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, just head to the bus stop area and you can take a bus directly to the Magic Kingdom. You might also consider booking a Minnie Van through the Lyft app, but this is not a complimentary service.

Remember, transportation schedules and availability are subject to change, so be sure to check your My Disney Experience app for the most up-to-date options in advance of your dining reservation.

I hope this info helps you navigate your Walt Disney World adventure, Zoe. Pop right back if you have any other questions. Your planDisney pals are here to help!

    Magical travels!
