We have an 8 AM breakfast reservation at Magic Kingdom. The park opens at 830 AM for guests staying on Disney property, which we are. Supposedly the ferry/monorail does not start until 30 minutes prior to park opening (8 AM) so how do we get there on time?

    Hi Jennifer, welcome to planDisney!

Dining reservations that take place prior to theme park opening are a great way to get photos on Main Street, U.S.A. with very few people around! Theme Park transportation from the Disney Resort hotels begins 45 minutes prior to theme park opening and the Hours and Events Calendar does show Early Entry for Disney Resort guests at Magic Kingdom Park beginning at 8:30 a.m. around your arrival date.

I’m not sure which Disney Resort you are staying at, so I have a few suggestions. First, I would stop by the Lobby Concierge at your Disney Resort and ask them to confirm the hours of operation for the complimentary transportation during your stay. Your first option is to catch the very first bus, monorail, or ferry to Magic Kingdom Park from your resort on the morning of your dining reservation. Once you confirm when transportation from your resort will begin running, I recommend arriving at the transportation stop 15-20 minutes prior to that time to make sure you are on the first available transport.

If you decide the complimentary transportation doesn’t fit your needs, I suggest using the Minnie Van Service. This service operates through the Lyft mobile app, and you can request pick up at your resort and you will be dropped off at Magic Kingdom Park. This service does require a fee determined by distance traveled, but the service begins running at 6:30 a.m. which would be plenty of time for your reservation.

When you arrive to Magic Kingdom Park, be sure to look out for signage directing those with early dining reservations on where to go and a Cast Member should be available to help guide you.

I hope this was helpful, Jennifer! Please visit me again at planDisney with any future planning questions you have!
