Hi, there!
Welcome to planDisney, Kayla. I'm so happy you stopped by and even happier to hear you're planning a visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort this holiday season! You're sure to have a fa-la-la-la-fabulous time.
Reading your question made my heart skip a beat. It immediately made me think of my son's first haircut at
Harmony Barber Shop! He was just a little over a year old at the time, and so darn cute. He's 12 now, and I would do anything to get that squishy baby boy back! I'm glad you were able to snag an appointment for your
little one. It
is cutting it close to your dining reservation at
The Crystal Palace, but it IS feasible! Whether you'll make it or not, though, is kind of out of your hands (eek!). If your baby is in a chair at Harmony Barber Shop right at 9:20 AM and cooperates perfectly well, you should be done in 15-20 minutes, giving you enough time to walk down Main Street, U.S.A. to The Crystal Palace. My little guy was not at all happy when he sat down for his first haircut, so it took the Cast Members some extra time (and a few extra tricks) to get him distracted enough to sit still without fussing. From the time he was plopped in the chair until his sweet little blonde locks were trimmed off, about 25 minutes had passed. If he had really thrown a fit, I'm sure it would have taken even longer. As a mom of three, I know that a baby is the ultimate variable. For that reason, I would try and modify one of your reservations. Disney dining locations do usually hold your reservation for up to 15 minutes, so that gives you a little extra wiggle room if you're unable to adjust one of your reservations!
When I'm trying to book a hard-to-get reservation or modify an existing reservation for a more ideal time, I check availability several times a day. You never know when someone's canceled plans may mean new plans for you! With patience and persistence (and maybe even a little pixie dust) I've almost always been able to secure the reservation I was hoping for!
I hope this was helpful, Kayla. Please let us know if you have any other questions about your Walt Disney World Resort vacation! We'd love to help you plan a magical stay.
